CYA is proud to announce that Sabrina Shvartsman has committed to play NCAA hockey for Elmira College. Elmira, located in upper state NY, is a yearly contender for the Frozen Four. “We are so pumped for Sabrina,” said Cimba. “A chance to play for a program that is vying for a spot at the top every year is unreal. I know coach Crowley is excited to bring her skill set and scoring touch into his lineup. It’s been amazing to watch her grow both on and off the ice over the years. I sure will miss that devilish smile she gives right before she does something that’s fun to watch on the ice.”
Sabrina had a number of options in front of her, but in the end both academics and hockey came together at Elmira. “I am so excited about the opportunity Elmira is giving me,” commented Shvartsman. “Getting the opportunity to be a part of a program with a history of playing in the national championship is unreal. First off I want to thank CYA for pushing me when I needed the push. To my teammates, I can’t imagine going to the rink and not seeing you all, we are family. And to my parents, who always believed in me. You were there through all the ups and downs, thank you for everything you’ve done to help make this sport part of my life. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’ll miss seeing you Dad… at everything (haha)”
CYA will continue their season during these crazy, unsure times and most importantly, we will continue working hard for all our players.
