The Chicago Young Americans are proud to announce that Kate Carfagnini has committed to play NCAA hockey at St. Olaf for the 2021/22 season.

The Chicago Young Americans are proud to announce that Kate Carfagnini has committed to play NCAA hockey at St. Olaf for the 2021/22 season. “Nothing puts a bigger smile on my face then to see hard work truly pay off,” commented Cimba. “Carf has always had speed, but she realized it wasn’t enough. I watched her add the weight room to her training regiment and the results have been huge. Carf is now a player with both strength and speed, a combination that will be highly effective at the next level, which I can’t wait to see. A big congrats to the entire Carfagnini family.”

The speedy forward will be joining fellow teammate Hannah Metric, as the Ollie’s look to top the highly competitive MIAC league. “It’s hard for me to put into words what I’m feeling,” said Kate. “It’s such a long journey, one filled with ups and downs, but to find a school that you immediately feel at home when you walk on the campus and then to get that call from a coach saying they want you, I’m still numb with excitement. I want to thank CYA for all you’ve done through this crazy journey. I also want to give a big hug to my team. You all make me want to come to the rink everyday. Most importantly, I want to thank my family. You can’t play this game without a crazy hockey family in your corner. Your support has given me the strength and courage to work as hard as I can. I truly believe this never would have happened without you.”

Kate represents CYA’s 6th NCAA commit this season. Not an easy feat considering all that this strange year has brought. CYA’s U19’s have a busy January planned as they continue to navigate all COVID restrictions.

Congrats Carf!!
