The Chicago Young Americans are proud to announce that defenseman Hannah Metric has committed to play NCAA Hockey for St. Olaf College beginning the 2021/22 season. Located just outside of Minneapolis in Northfield, Minnesota, the Olly’s play their home games on campus in their brand new St. Olaf Ice Arena where they also play in the highly competitive MIAC. “Nothing makes me prouder then to see a player start their career at CYA as a U12 and end up reaching their goal to play in the NCAA,” commented Cimba. “Hannah represents everything you could ask for in a player, both on and off the ice. A true desire to compete, a great work ethic, an infectious leadership quality and, not to mention an amazing person outside the game. She also represents what can happen when you combine hard work in the classroom with hard work on the ice.” An interesting fun fact, Metrics Mom played NCAA soccer in the MIAC back in the day. “I am so excited about the opportunity to play for Coach Johnson next season. It’s not been an easy year with all the COVID restrictions, but CYA managed to get us the games we needed to help me solidify this opportunity. I can’t thank the club enough for all you’ve done.,” said Metric. “ I also want to thank my team - sisters for life. Most importantly I want to thank my family. You’ve sacrificed a lot for me and to be able to play this game year after year. You have been there through all the crazy ups and downs. You took time out of your lives to help me see so many schools around the country and most importantly, you never stopped believing in me.”
While CYA works through a COVID break in the season, we are looking to lean heavily on Metric as soon as we start back up. In the meantime, it’s Zoom workouts and classroom sessions.
We are all so proud of you Hannah!
